Paper Light Making Workshop £42, includes all materials, tea, light lunch & homemade cake
Award winning sculptural textile designer Lorna Syson will be shining the light on sustainability & sharing her craft skills to help you create your paper light.
Ever wondered how your choices could affect the environment?
Well come along to the Shining a light on sustainability workshop with Lorna Syson and get in insight into how new fabric technologies are offering a sustainable alternative to tradition textiles.
Get an understanding into how the designer works with papers before transferring the techniques into fabrics and look at her sketch books and traditional Chinese paper cutting for inspiration. Learn how to create your own monochrome tub light from scratch using sustainable papers, paper cutting techniques, folding and manipulation.
All materials are included (lampshade frame 12.5cm in diameter, black and white papers, tapes and adhesives) all you need to bring is yourself, your creative inspiration in the form of images you love and a lot of enthusiasm. At the end of the day you can leave with your own tub light tucked under your arm to use on a freestanding frame or a hanging light.

Creative business mentor Sarah McNicol will teach some simple ways to help you be more effective and enjoy your successes.
This workshop is open to anyone running a creative business, working in a creative business or undertaking creative projects.

Femme Fatale Life Drawing Party with Illustrator Charlotte Thomson
Be Glamorous! This is not your usual life drawing class; the theme is Film Noir & Hollywood Starlet.
Learn from Charlotte how to create beautiful & voluptuous drawings of our clothed muse model Jody Capuano.
If you’ve always thought art classes could do with a little more spice then this one is for you.
Illustrator Charlotte Thomson is a specialist in Boudoir and Burlesque portraiture and will be bringing us her tips and tricks for creating beautiful and voluptuous life drawings.
The session will concentrate on ‘Femme Fatale’ as a theme, using vintage Hollywood starlets and Film Noir vamps as an inspiration to explore light and shade and ways of creating atmosphere in your pictures.
Art materials, paper and drawing boards will be provided but feel free to bring additional materials if you wish.
Some drawing experience is preferred but all levels of experience welcome.
Be glamourous! This is not your usual life drawing class, feel free to dress up and get into the vintage theme!
