Paper Light Workshop Details: Shining the light on sustainability
 

Ever wondered how your choices could affect the environment? Well come along to the Shining a light on sustainability workshop with award winning sculptural textile designer Lorna Syson and get in insight into how new fabric technologies are offering a sustainable alternative to tradition textiles.

Get an understanding into how the designer works with papers before transferring the techniques into fabrics and look at her sketch books and traditional Chinese paper cutting for inspiration. Learn how to create your own monochrome tub light from scratch using sustainable papers, paper cutting techniques, folding and manipulation.

All materials are included (lampshade frame 12.5cm in diameter, black and white papers, tapes and adhesives) all you need to bring is yourself, your creative inspiration in the form of images you love and a lot of enthusiasm. At the end of the day you can leave with your own tub light tucked under your arm to use on a freestanding frame or a hanging light.
